Trying to take advantage of our last reliable internet the night before we leave beautiful Barra de Navidad and our marina at the Wyndam Grand Bay Hotel, www.islanavidad.com. After spending more than a month in the Barra area, getting to know locals and having established a pretty regular daily schedule that included a few hours lounging at the pool, it is difficult to leave and start heading south.

Knowing that good things are just around the corner does not make the leaving much easier, but even harder than saying Goodbye to Barra, is saying Goodbye to cruising friends who we met on the Haha and who are now heading back north. When you spend time together everyday, enjoying more meals together than you do without the other, you can't help but to grow really strong bonds. Of all the things we'd looked forward to with cruising, we'd no idea how social this was going to be for us, or how hard it would be to part ways.

Barra has been a lovely place to slow down and we have enjoyed every minute here. The boys loved to start their mornings with a visit from the French Baker, dingy over to the Grand Bay for pool time, or the kids club in the afternoons, and on special occasions, enjoy a movie at the Hotel's Movie Theatre.

We enjoyed the spontaneous  Happy Hours, the Managers Receptions, dinner at the Piano Bar, many dinners shared with friends, Ketching Up party, and a great 'escape' night at the Grand Bay Hotel.

Oh, and we also enjoyed LOTS of great showers at the Marina. We are so clean these days, we squeak! But not for long...we'll be back to sandy and smelly soon enough!

g. Under the Top 10 Marina view, there are some MEGA yachts here. If you owe Boeing stock you should know that their boat is the biggest here and very swanky with its fulltime staff of 12.

Bottom of the 'fast slide', one of two waterslides in the hotel pools that are all connected by a tropical pool river. Great place for the kids and us to hang for the month!
